This issue of Queensland Researcher is devoted to recording the outstanding successes of the second Research Forum conducted by the Queensland Institute for Educational Research in August. Once again, the forum illustrated the quality of the research being undertaken in our local educational community. The evening also provided an excellent opportunity for educators and others to network, discuss and share ideas about their research. The members of the QIER Executive are to be congratulated for an excellent effort in organising the Forum.

Over 40 posters were presented at the Forum with an overall attendance for the evening of some 100 academics, education administrators, teachers and others interested in educational research.

The Abstracts presented in this issue of the journal should provide a lasting record of the evening as well as contributing to wider networking in the educational research community, particularly for those unable to attend the Forum.

This year, telephone numbers and facsimile numbers have been included with the Abstracts (where available) to facilitate further networking. Readers are encouraged to contact the relevant researchers directly if seeking clarification and/or further information on projects.

QIER looks forward to holding another Forum in the future. Ideas and suggestions to improve an already successful formula are always welcome - comments can be directed to the Secretary of the Institute.
